Can a basketball court be installed on a rooftop/roof/platform?
Suspended interlocking flooring is lightweight, has little impact on floor-slab load, is elevated and water-permeable, and is assembled by the dry method without damaging the waterproof layer—making it the ideal surface layer for rooftops, rooftop platforms, and elevated-level basketball courts, and it can be used under lighting at night too.

So which material should I actually choose?→ Material comparison · Selection (suspended vs. acrylic/silicon PU/PVC…)
Why is suspended flooring the top choice for rooftop courts?
- Lightweight, with minimal impact on the floor slab: Each individual tile is light, and the overall load is far lower than cast-in-place materials, making it friendly to rooftop structures
- Does not damage waterproofing: Dry assembly with direct laying — no drilling/bonding needed, protecting the roof's waterproof layer
- Elevated drainage: The bottom support feet are elevated, allowing rainwater to drain away quickly so water doesn't pool on the roof
- Detachable and relocatable: Can be partially lifted when the roof needs maintenance, and recycled and reused when relocating
- Usable day and night: Usable at night as well when paired with venue lighting
Which rooftop/platform scenarios is it suitable for?
- Employee courts on enterprise/park office rooftops
- Stilt floors of premium developments, platform toddler activity areas
- Rooftop sports spaces in commercial complexes
- School building platforms, underground garage rooftop courts
Real case studies
- Hangguo rooftop court(Hangzhou, Zhejiang, Hangzhou Boiler Works): a rooftop platform of a corporate office building, a standard basketball court in contrasting green and red, used under night lighting for employee fitness.
- Beier Tree Kindergarten, Hangzhou(Hangzhou, Zhejiang): a children's court on the raised-floor level of a high-end residential development, a blue court + racing checkered-flag themed pattern.
- Yongjia Tangtou Court(Yongjia, Wenzhou, Zhejiang): a standard court in an aerial night view, in modern contrasting orange and grey, fully lit for nighttime use.

FAQ
Is the roof's load capacity sufficient? Does it need reinforcement?
Suspended flooring is lightweight and generally does not add significant load; the actual load depends on the roof structure. We recommend providing the roof load parameters, and we will assist in calculating the installation plan.
Will it affect the rooftop waterproofing?
No. Dry interlocking installation requires no drilling or bonding and lays directly on the roof; the waterproof layer stays intact and can be lifted when inspection is needed.
Will it get flipped over in strong wind?
The locks between floor tiles mesh into one integrated whole; edges can be reinforced with fixed border strips/trim, and edge reinforcement is applied in high-rise wind-tunnel zones.
Will the flooring deform from intense summer rooftop sun exposure?
Uses high-impact modified PP + anti-aging masterbatch, with a thermal-expansion gap design; passed 7,000 hours of light-aging testing, with stable color outdoors over many years, sun- and weather-resistant.
Have a specific site requirement?
Rooftop/platform courts—just provide the roof dimensions and load parameters and we'll produce a plan. Lightweight without straining the floor slab, no damage to waterproofing, and usable at night.
